Preparing Your Home

A Guide To Preparing Your Home

 

Here we have helpful tips to help capture your home at its best.

Please read through our suggestions so that you may prepare your home in advance of the photographes visit.

Your photographer will ask for a tour of your home on arrives and of course we will assist you with any suggestions during our visit.

Front of House

The first impression of your property is of course front of house. Ensure wheelie bins are hidden, clear weeds and ensure your garden is looking the best it can. Please ensure all vehicles, trailers caravans etc are removed from the driveway or front of the garage to give us the best unobstructed view If the day of your appointment isnt the best of weather - rest assured we will add a beautiful sky to enhance the image.

Hallways

Try and clear of bulky items such as shoes, jackets, mail and keys, etc. Perhaps just one or two jackets on a hook, your stairs should also be cleared of any items. Good lighting and perhaps some flowers in the hall leave a good impression

The Lounge

Its best to open curtains and blinds to ensure the property is light and bright., plump and straighten all cushions on the sofas and chairs. Remove any pieces of decor that can draw in the eyes and make the room appear smaller, such as rugs. Tidy away cablesTV remotes children's toys, pile of magazines and any general clutter - the less there is the larger and more appealing the room will look

The Kitchen / Breakfast area

Worktops should be as clear as possible. Remove tea towels, cleaning products, mops and bins sink drainers . Calenders, magnets and planners should all be removed to ensure clean and clear walls. Dryers and washing machines should be empty. Declutter all breakfast bars or tables but adding some table settings, flowers or fruit adds a nice homely touch.

Dining Room

Take time to arrange the room well - ensure all chairs are straight ( please dont place items on the chairs under the table) and remove any high chairs. Remove any clutter that will affect the overall presentation - and a simple floral display on the table is a nice added touch.

Bedrooms

Bedrooms are often a sanctuary and amjor selling point for size. Ensure any visible items under the bed and above the wardrobe are removed, along with items such as heaters, posters, laundry baskets, phone chargers and cables. put on freshly laundered and ironed bed covers and a enhance with small neatly arraged amout of cushions

Bathrooms/ Ensuite

In the bathroom and en-suite the toilet seat should be placed down, remove small floor rugs and hide away toilet brushes and bins. Place in fresh towels, new toilet roll and refill hand soap. Remove toothbrushes and medication. Decorative items with decorative toiletries should be left on display.

Conservatory / Sun Rooms

Another great selling feature of your home is the sun room. please take time to ensure outside the windows are clear ( esp the views) remove as much ornaments or clutter from any window sills. Open blinds to let in as much light as possible. . Add some flowers or plants to give that warm feel.

Garden

Present your garden with grass cut and flowers beds looking their best. clear paths and patios of any leaves, hosepipes etc. Ensure all washing lines are clear with all pegs removed. Remove pet and children’s toys. Outdoor furniture should arranged neatly and presented as an appealing place to sit on a nice day - add scatter cushions etc to enhance
